A pleasant and convenient place for a short stay.

We stayed for one night, 5/7/25. Although the hotel is very dated it was spotlessly clean. Our double room was large with a very comfortable bed. The staff were friendly and helpful. The cooked breakfast was good though there wasn’t any fresh fruits or yoghurts available.

Excellent: Every aspect was perfect. I recommend it.

I booked this hotel before reading the reviews and I must admit the reviews put me off and I arrived thinking I was going to be disappointed. All I can say is, don't take the reviews as advice about this hotel. It's lovely. It was spotlessly clean, the staff were friendly, the room was large, the facilities were excellent. It was a very cold November visit and they didn't skimp on the heat. Although it is an older style hotel it has many interesting aspects. The reception entrance is huge, unlike Premier Inn hotels, The dome ceiling on the landing is very unusual. They had just put up their Christmas tree in the reception and it was beautiful. I had to stayed one of the nights on my own and felt very safe. There was plenty of parking and the hotel was very quiet.

  Ideal For Darts

Clean and comfy room, with extra large bed, with everything you would need in the room. We were at the darts next door so only walking distance required, we came back and ordered 2 pizza’s and had a drink in our room. Lovely and tasty pizza and very good value. Nice cold pint of cider and a respectable £6 a pint is also very good.

The service was top notch, couldn't fault a thing

"Myself and my husband got married in the Lakeside 3 weeks ago, and honestly, it was the best day of our lives. We couldn't fault a single thing with the hotel. Catherine, the wedding planner, was FANTASTIC, you could trust her with everything and she was always contactable. We had fabulous feedback from our guests that the food was amazing too which made us so happy. The service was top notch, couldn't fault a thing."

  Great wedding experience

"We had a great wedding experience. From our initial meeting with Catherine, the wedding co-ordinator, right through to the second day of our wedding. Even though we only had a few months to prepare for the wedding before our actual wedding, everything that could have been done to cater for us was done and more."
